We are a program of choice that serves
non-Spanish speaking families that live in the
boundaries of District 833. Founded in 2004, Nuevas
Fronteras Spanish Immersion currently has three kindergarten, three first grade,
three second grade, three third grade
and two fourth grade classrooms.
We
share school facilities with Crestview Elementary
School in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. We draw students from
the cities of Woodbury, Cottage Grove, St. Paul Park
and Newport and have become a viable partner in the
continually-growing immersion education network of
the Twin Cities. Our current program population
consists of about 260 students and 15 teachers.
Students in our program are immersed in Spanish as
they learn in the curricular areas of reading,
writing, math, science, social studies, art, and
health. As with all programs in the South Washington
County School district, our goal is to empower all
our learners with the knowledge, skills, and
attitudes for success. Our additional goal for our
students is to communicate effectively in Spanish.
