The School Board met on Thursday, Sept. 11, with the following items on the agenda:

The 2014-15 school year marks 50 years of service as an education institution for the Crestview Elementary School building.

Each year, fourth graders at Red Rock Elementary go on an educational Big River Journey field trip down the Mississippi River.

These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,600 National Merit Scholarships worth about $33 million that will be offered next spring.

Woodbury High School has been ranked 45 in the nation in Newsweek’s list of Top High Schools in 2014.

South Washington County Schools held a contest this summer to see where in the world our students were reading.

New website will help inform educators, parents and policymakers.

Woodbury High School and Woodbury Middle School have been selected as two of 16 development pilot sites across the country to work closely with the AVID Center to better define the program’s work as a school wide reform in addition to the AVID elective class.

East Ridge High School junior Dasom Ham was selected for the 2014 Gopher Business program offered by the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.

Students enrolled in the Kids Club program at Liberty Ridge Elementary School participated in a summer service project.
