District News

The School Board met on Thursday, March 5, with the following items on the agenda:

Thirteen students from South Washington County Schools have been selected for the American Choral Directors Association’s (ACDA) Grade 4-6 State Honor Choir.

Oltman Middle School in South Washington County School District 833 has been selected as an AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) National Demonstration School.

The robotics teams from East Ridge and Park high schools competed at the Northern Lights Regional Robotics Competition in Duluth Feb. 26-28, against 60 teams from five states.

Three Woodbury High School students participated in the Twin Cities Regional Science Fair, held Feb. 27-28, and each advanced to different levels in the competition.

Six Academic Triathlon teams from District 833 advanced to the state competition by placing first in a regional meet, and three of those teams placed at the 2015 Minnesota U.S. Academic Triathlon State Tournament, held recently at Cottage Grove Middle School.

Woodbury Middle School’s Service Learning Club Vaya Verde, Student Council, and students involved in other groups throughout the school have been busy making a difference in their community.

Liberty Ridge Elementary School recently held a Jump Rope for Heart event, where students raised money for the American Heart Association.

Schools throughout District 833 celebrated I Love to Read month in February.

East Ridge High School: Monday, March 2, at 7 p.m. in the Loft Stage at East Ridge High School.
