Screen Free Week! We had over 300 students
pledge to reduce screen time and lots of fun at
our after school activities.

congratulate Hannah Eggert, Brynn Carlson &
Maggie Kenney (8th graders) on receiving the top
award for their Project Citizen Showcase.
They were awarded their purple ribbon by
Minnesota State Supreme Court Justice G. Barry
Anderson in the Capitol Rotunda! Way to go!

Governor Dayton Visits Lake Middle School
On Friday, April 12th,
2013, Governor Dayton visited Lake Middle School
as a guest speaker in the AVID classroom. Twice
a month, AVID students have the opportunity to
hear from professionals in different careers.
Governor Dayton spoke about the importance of
attending college and how it can directly affect
future career opportunities. Students then
asked Governor Dayton questions about his career
path and past experiences in secondary and post
secondary education. The event closed with
several students presenting the Governor with an
AVID t-shirt.
