PTA for sponsoring the 8th grade boat
trip. This end of the year event is enjoyed by
all 8th grade students and it
provides an amazing opportunity for students to
spend the day together as they end their middle

Governor Dayton Visits Lake Middle School
On Friday, April 12th,
2013, Governor Dayton visited Lake Middle School
as a guest speaker in the AVID classroom. Twice
a month, AVID students have the opportunity to
hear from professionals in different careers.
Governor Dayton spoke about the importance of
attending college and how it can directly affect
future career opportunities. Students then
asked Governor Dayton questions about his career
path and past experiences in secondary and post
secondary education. The event closed with
several students presenting the Governor with an
AVID t-shirt.
